Why EMDR Might Look Different for PTSD and Complex PTSD
EMDR can be highly effective for trauma, but it doesn’t always look the same for PTSD and complex PTSD (C-PTSD). While someone with a few identifiable traumatic events may move into reprocessing relatively quickly, lifelong or developmental trauma can require more preparation, pacing, parts work, grief work, and real-life behavioral change.
